Mundial Group Inc. acquires Normandin (2010-05-01)
Mundial Group Inc. is proud to announce the acquisition of the sheet metal subcontracting company Normandin Inc. of Saint-Valérien-de-Milton in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec. Metal Bernard Inc. and Normandin Inc. customers will benefit from this transaction that will give them access to a contingency plan that is unique in the industry with increased production capacity in the cutting, bending, and welding of sheet metal.
Normandin provides an important asset to Mundial Group by expanding its range of activities. Normandin Inc. works primarily with food processing, paper mills, transport, construction, and energy industries, and has little presence in the markets currently served by the Mundial Group plant located at Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon.
This 20-year old company, founded by Roger Normandin, has a dedicated and dynamic team of 45 people and equipment on the cutting edge of technology. Its state of the art 72,000 square foot factory is located advantageously near markets in central Québec, Monteregie and the greater Montreal area.
Its fleet of equipment includes six laser cutters; one large (8' X 26') six kilowatt laser cutter, a 10' X 20' plasma cutter, a 6' X 12' water jet cutter, and an 11' X 40' oxy-cutting table that can cut plates up to 8" thick. And bending is no exception with their state of the art 230 and 320 metric ton Trumpf presses. The company also has a welding department at the factory and another mobile welder on the road to better meet diverse customer needs.
The Mundial Group Inc. now consists of six sub-contracting companies and nearly 200 employees dedicated to continuous improvement in different complimentary sectors, capable of processing sheet metal, machining and molding of rubber and other polymers.
